Skyfields by Perth Airport has been recognised at the Property Council WA Awards, taking out the Best Retail Development or Redevelopment category for its Dunreath Village neighbourhood shopping centre.

Dunreath Village opened in 2023 with anchor tenants Woolworths, Priceline and Sushi Hub, and was followed by a 2025 expansion including a flagship Dan Murphy’s, specialty retailers, food and beverage, and public art.

Located within walking distance of Redcliffe Station, it established an important retail amenity for the growing town centre and office park around Dunreath Drive, and set the foundation for broader precinct transformation.

Clay Thomas, General Manager Property Development for Skyfields, said the award recognises both the quality of the outcome and the long-term thinking behind the development.

“This is a meaningful recognition of the work, care and conviction behind Dunreath Village, and its role as the anchor of amenity and convenience within our emerging town centre,” he said.

“The judges acknowledged not only the quality of the retail outcome, but the long-term thinking behind it — designing for what comes next, not just what was required at the time. Their feedback spoke directly to the team’s focus on quality outcomes and future-ready design,” Mr Thomas said.

Designed by Hames Sharley and developed by Skyfields in partnership with Shelford Constructions and Perth Airport’s Projects and Planning team, Dunreath Village was designed to support the long-term vision for the Airport Estate. It is directly aligned with the One airport strategy and future planned redevelopment of the precinct.

With extended trading hours due to its location within the Airport Estate boundary, the centre already serves a diverse customer base including nearby residents, office workers, destination shoppers to neighbouring DFO and Costco, and airport visitors.

The Property Council WA Awards are one of the state’s leading programs recognising excellence in commercial property, with categories spanning retail, commercial, residential and community infrastructure development, as well as operational, innovation and marketing disciplines.

Finalists are assessed through a competitive, peer reviewed judging process, with submissions evaluated by senior industry practitioners against strict criteria including planning, design, innovation, delivery and long term impact.

The awards were presented at a gala event at Crown Perth on Friday 5 June, bringing together industry leaders from across Western Australia’s property sector.
