Skyfields delivers latest expansion of Epiroc campus
Skyfields has delivered the latest expansion of Epiroc’s national headquarters, with completion of an advanced workforce training facility that builds on more than 20 years of partnership with Skyfields by Perth Airport.

Epiroc’s facility at the Perth Airport Estate has grown from a single 13,000sqm site in 2004 to a 58,000sqm campus today across four connected sites, enabling the global mining technology giant to scale up its operation in response to business growth.
Purpose‑built to strengthen skills and capability across the mining sector, the additional 2,373sqm training facility adjoins an existing warehouse, workshop and office. It provides a dedicated, on‑site environment for Epiroc’s staff and contractors to undertake practical, hands‑on training with heavy equipment and digital technologies for modern, increasingly automated mining operations.
Dan Sweet, Chief Property Officer of Perth Airport said the project reinforces Skyfields’ credentials as a build-and-hold property developer with the capability to deliver high-quality, bespoke developments based on trusted partnerships with loyal tenants. These long‑term partnerships support business growth across key industries.
“This project is a great example of what can be achieved through long‑standing partnerships and close collaboration,” said Mr Sweet. “It demonstrates the trust our clients place in Skyfields to deliver high‑quality, bespoke developments that support their business growth, workforce needs and long‑term success.”
Danny Moore, Epiroc Commercial and Marketing Manager, said: that “this custom‑built training facility allows us to deliver practical, hands‑on learning that best prepares mining operators to work safely and effectively with our equipment and technology in the field.
“Our strong relationship with Skyfields has enabled us to expand our presence to support our people, operations and long‑term growth in Western Australia.”
The project was delivered through a highly collaborative approach between Skyfields’ development team, Perth Airport’s projects team, Epiroc and Sarich Building, ensuring the facility was tailored to Epiroc’s operational needs while meeting high standards of design and sustainability.

Sustainability rating
The building achieved a 4‑Star Green Star Design Rating and is on track to achieve a Certified rating. Key sustainability targets include:
- 30 per cent improvement in energy efficiency compared to the reference building
- 45 per cent reduction in water use compared to a standard building
- Biodiversity enhancement measures on-site
- Reduced peak stormwater flows compared to the pre‑development condition
- Climate change adaptation measures embedded in the design
These initiatives align with Skyfields’ broader sustainability objectives and respond to increasing demand from tenants for environmentally responsible facilities.

Strategic location
Epiroc’s campus is located within Tonkin Connect (Airport South), one of Western Australia’s most strategically positioned industrial and logistics precincts, offering direct access to major freight routes and proximity to the airport. The precinct continues to attract long‑term investment from national and global businesses seeking high‑quality, well‑connected industrial premises.
Tonkin Connect is one of five distinct precincts across the 2,105‑hectare Airport Estate; the others being Redcliffe Metro (Airport West) town centre and office park, Airport Central (T1 and T2), Dunreath Green future mixed‑use development, and Airport North.
